The PEW Research Center reports ereader ownership among U.S. adults climbed to 12% in May, 2011, up from 6% in November, 2010. This is the first time ereader ownership among U.S. adults has reached double digit percentage points.
Other interesting results of this survey show ereader ownership in households with less than $30,000 annual income remained flat at 4%, while ereader ownership grew among all households earning more than $30,000. The highest growth was 12% to 24% in households earning more than $75,000 a year.
In the education sector, ereader ownership declined among people with only some high school, dropping from 5% to 3%, but more than doubled among college graduates from 8% to 22%.
